Annual Fundraiser - Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay

This year we had three teams, comprising of 34 riders and support crew participate in the annual Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay raising money for Mt Alexander Hospital. The ride aims at inspiring people who would not normally undertake such an experience, to fulfil a major personal achievement. To enhance this aim, local businesses, members of the community, friends and staff members sponsor the riders in their fundraising efforts. As well as personal sponsorship, the teams organise a number of fundraising events including BBQ's, a raffle, mail-out to the community and a wine fundraiser. In 2007 riders raised the fantastic total of $38,695.

Henry James Ellery 1914 - 2002Henry James Ellery

The new 60-bed Residential Aged Care Facility has been named Ellery House in honour of the late Mr Henry James Ellery (Jim).

Jim was a substantial donor and over a period of eight-years supported many fund raising activities. He cared for his late wife, Rosabel Ellery, a resident in Tolstrup and visited her daily to assist the staff by feeding her and taking her for walks in her wheelchair around the grounds. Jim was a well- known local identity and highly regarded by the staff.

Mr Ellery was a resident in Penhall for the last four months of his life, which ceased on 19 January 2002. This is a fitting recognition of a generous benefactor and acknowledgement of the wider community’s support.

Invest in your local community - by making a gift in your will

Building for the future

We are building for future generations, just as our predecessors have done before us, and maintaining Mt Alexander Hospital's valuable facilities for the benefit of the entire community.

Only with the continuing support of our community through donations, sponsorships and bequests can we continue to provide the best possible health care close to home.

Invest in your local community

You can ensure your family's security and also be a part of Mt Alexander Hospital's future by considering your own personal planning through the establishment of a Will.

A gift in your Will to Mt Alexander Hospital is an investment in your local community that benefits future generations of your family and friends.

Preparing your Will

It is essential to your family's security that you seek legal advice to establish and manage your Will. As a service to the community, Mt Alexander Hospital has developed "A GUIDE TO PREPARING A WILL" which is available to you free of charge.

For your free copy of "A guide to preparing a Will", please contact our fundraising co-ordinator by calling (03) 5471 1555 or write to Mt Alexander Hospital, PO Box 50, Castlemaine 3450.

Should you wish to support the Hospital with a gift in your Will, the appropriate wording is as follows:

"I give, devise and bequeath to the Mt. Alexander Hospital ..."

Your gift will be an ongoing memorial.

Please feel free to discuss with us how you wish your gift to benefit Mt Alexander Hospital and how you would like your gift to be acknowledged.

Our Hospital is living testimony to the generosity of many individuals and groups in the community through the naming of rooms, plaques on equipment, paintings and memorial gardens.

All discussions with you will remain confidential but will assist us in keeping you informed about the Hospital's plans and implementing your wishes in the future.
